Executive position that involves frequent travel

Individuals with a passion for sales and marketing are needed for a business development position.

A Hong Kong-listed machinery trading and service company that is rapidly expanding throughout the mainland and in Hong Kong needs a product executive. Established for more than 40 years, Leeport has over 600 employees in Hong Kong, the mainland and Southeast Asia, and offers total solutions in manufacturing technology.

'The successful candidate will work independently and report to the business development manager,' said Tammy Leung Fung-kwan, Leeport's human resources manager.

Major duties would range from the formulation and implementation of business plans for various brands of precision metal-cutting machinery to the planning and execution of marketing activities including exhibitions, advertisements and seminars, Ms Leung said. The identification of new business opportunities and communication with suppliers are also vital to the role.

'This job requires frequent travel within China and overseas, so it is not a desk job.' The company is committed to providing ongoing training on product knowledge, customer handling skills, sales techniques and operations and quality systems. The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in mechanical, industrial/manufacturing, automotive engineering or the equivalent.

'Candidates with additional qualifications in marketing or business administration are preferred,' Ms Leung said. At least one year's experience of selling and marketing capital equipment and some exposure to manufacturing is a definite plus.
