Authorities will allow overnight stocking of poultry if a black rainstorm warning or a gale warning - typhoon signals No 8, No 9 or No 10 - is in force between noon and 8pm within a single day. The Food and Health Bureau said if the storm warning was cancelled before noon, the ban on overnight stocking of live chickens would stay in effect as retailers would have enough time to sell their stock. Last week, legislators asked the bureau to grant the exemption as some retailers would struggle to comply with the ban when bad weather struck.
