Celebrity fung shui master Peter So Man-fung - who once predicted he was in for 10 years of bad luck - lost three kitchen choppers and some cash when his luxury villa in Ting Kau was burgled yesterday.
Police later arrested an illegal immigrant in connection with the case.
Mr So, 48, also known as So Man-lap, called police at 5.30pm when he returned to the three-storey, 4,000 sq ft house in Castle Peak Road and found signs of a break-in. An initial check showed three choppers and HK$300 in cash were missing.
During a search on a nearby highway, police stopped a 24-year-old mainlander who was carrying three choppers. He was being detained last night on suspicion of burglary.
Mr So said the house was empty when the burglary occurred and that his maid might have forgotten to close the windows properly. The thief had also taken some chrysanthemum tea and soft drinks, he said.
Mr So, a high-profile fung shui master, has said previously he seldom lived in the house overlooking Ting Kau Beach because it was too quiet. It was cared for by a maid.
