Vivian Chow tells of 'blessed' husband
Making her first public appearance since dominating gossip headlines with her sudden break-up and make-up with Joe Nieh, all eyes were on singer Vivian Chow Wai-man at an Omega watch shop ribbon-cutting in Tsim Sha Tsui on Tuesday evening.
In fact, the Canton Road store was overrun with close to 100 reporters eager to hear from Chow personally why she had taken back the wayward author.
'Actually, I think my husband is a blessed man,' Chow said, defending her new husband.
'I think everyone has different values [about getting married]. I have been many places and I realised that to have your own happiness is very simple. It is not built upon money, nor material.'
Chow also denied she got married because she is pregnant. She further denied claims that she and Nieh had already married years ago in Canada and the new wedding was just a publicity stunt. Remaining composed as the barrage of questions continued, Chow explained the reason Nieh's parents weren't at the January 5 event was because they performed the Chinese rituals and ceremonies two days prior with his kin.
'But the idea of the wedding and the set-up was by my arrangement. I wanted the wedding to be quiet and peaceful with enough space, and home was the best place for it. I believe in the choice I made.'
