Out went the Year of the Rat and the Discovery Bay Open Air markets last November, but the Year of the Ox has already brought fortune to Tarlan Amigh (below at a Pok Fu Lam market). She has found a new venue for another Open Air community market, with stalls featuring organic produce, handicrafts and bespoke arts items. Thanks to new sponsor Hang Lung Properties, The Peak Market will begin on Sunday, March 1, and continue every first Sunday of the month on Level 3 of The Peak Galleria. No doubt, the view there will be great, but we suspect it will be a little windy on the top. The initial deal allows Amigh to host her markets at the Galleria for four months, until June. 'We've tried different locations and different partners,' Amigh said in her press release. 'The Peak Market increases our footprint and offers our markets to a wider range of Hong Kong residents, which has always been our objective.' That's not the only news for Open Air. It seems there might be other announcements soon. 'We are adding more locations plus our exciting PopUp Market concept, which will all be announced shortly. In addition, watch out for Moonlight Movies starting in March at the Cyberport Podium. Details to follow.' Not to be forgotten, their Pok Fu Lam Market at Cyberport will also continue on March 15 and then the third Sunday of each month. For more information, call 2523 6835 or visit www.openairhk.com .
