Love - and the smell of lavender - are always in the air in the Provencal countryside. And where better to take in both than the new Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche (www.fourseasons.com/provence). The resort offers views of medieval hilltop towns, has two golf courses, an infinity pool and a hydrotherapy pool. But the main feature is the 3,000 sq m spa. As well as 14 treatment rooms, including two for couples with outdoor terraces and cabanas, there's a manicure and pedicure studio, gym, hair salon and studio for yoga and pilates classes, plus saunas and steam rooms. An oasis 264 metres below sea level, with views towards the Dead Sea, the Evason Ma'In (www.sixsenses.com/Evason-Ma-In) is just an hour's drive from Jordan's capital Amman. The spa was built in the 1980s, but has undergone a US$12 million Evason conversion to include a free-standing Six Senses Spa complex that focuses on the therapeutic properties of the mineral-rich waters, offering healing mineral and Dead Sea therapies such as salt scrubs and mud wraps.
