Actor's wax double makes HK debut
Actor Louis Koo Tin-lok has now joined the ranks of wax dummies at the tourist trap Madame Tussauds.
Yesterday his figure, attired in a shiny blue Pepsi-sponsored suit, made its public debut in Hong Kong. The odd thing is, it is on loan for three months from the group's Shanghai museum, even though Koo is a popular hometown movie hero.
On hand to unveil himself, so to speak, Koo explained that it was created during a joint project with [regional stars and fellow soft-drink hawkers] Jolin Tsai Yi-lin, Alan Luo, Lee Jun-ki and Huang Xiaoming.
'As a collector of life-size figures, I am thrilled to be able to transform into a magnificent futuristic blue knight,' he said. 'It feels great to be a hero!'
Also curiously, the figure is on display in the Music Icons section of the attraction. Koo may have tried his hand at singing and dancing, but we doubt even any of his fans would consider him a music icon. By the way, the real Koo is the one on the left of the picture.
