Where is it? The 255-room Hilton Beijing Wangfujing is a hop and skip away from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City and is next to one of the capital's biggest shopping centres, the APM mall.

What are the rooms like? Rooms range in size from the standard 50 square metres up to the 257 square metre penthouse. All have a huge walk-in wardrobe, a 42-inch LCD television and an iPod docking station.

And the best thing? The hotel has a pillow menu that offers seven varieties, from very soft to the hard orthopaedic ones.

Is there a spa? Yes. The hotel has a spa, complete with nine private treatment rooms; a swimming pool; a gym; and a fitness centre.

What about food? The hotel is next to the Macau Centre, so it's perhaps not surprising that one of its main restaurants, Vasco's, offers some of the best Macanese cuisine in the city. The restaurant has a 'water master', who will help you pair the right fizzy or still water with your dishes. The hotel's cellar stocks a wide range of new and old world wines.

Will it break the bank? Deluxe rooms start from HK$3,500, suites at HK$4,000. A penthouse stay will cost you HK$28,600 per night.
