Ocean Park added another mascot to its new Amazing Asian Animals attraction at a promotion event at Harbour City over the weekend. Less than a month after unveiling Later Gator, the friendly green reptile icon of the Chinese alligators on display, the Aberdeen park debuted Goldie, another costumed figure who will start roaming the park grounds. The fish - a pearl necklace-wearing koi with glittering gills and a Versace dress - will be the face of the Goldfish Treasures aquarium in the Amazing Asian Animals section.

This brings to three the number of costumed figures the amusement park has created. The first was the seal Whiskers, who appears in its logo. Given that Amazing Asian Animals is the first major attraction of Ocean Park's HK$5.5 billion redevelopment plan, should we be expecting more mascots? How about Rex the red panda or Sammy the smiling salamander? At the rate Ocean Park is adding mascots, Whiskers might soon have enough cohorts to challenge Mickey's crew to a basketball game.

If you want to show your little ones what other animals are featured at Ocean Park, they have built an animal maze outside Ocean Terminal, which will be there until Sunday.
