Liposomes

Liposomes are used in drug-delivery systems and for anti-ageing cosmetic formulations. The microscopic bubbles can be filled with active skincare ingredients to form a delivery system to target signs of ageing (dry skin, fine lines). As the liposome wall is similar in structure to a cell membrane, when a product with liposomes is applied to the skin, the liposomes merge with cellular membranes. The liposomes then release their active materials into the cells.
