Different sports companies have brought over basketball stars this summer. Now it's the National Basketball Association that is organising its own Asian promotional junket. The NBA Madness event, with interactive games, displays and special appearances, will find its way to Hong Kong for its third year from September 4 to 6 at the APM mall. The highlights are the exhibition of the Larry O'Brien NBA championship trophy, some cheer-leading routines from the Blazer Dancers of the Portland Trail Blazers team and the first Hong Kong appearance of Kevin Durant (pictured), the blossoming new star of Oklahoma City Thunder. The 20-year-old was rookie of the year in the 2007-08 season, and was sixth in the league in scoring last season. He will most likely be at the mall on September 4 and 5, although times and dates are to be confirmed. Whatever the case, catch him now before he becomes too big a star for such public events. If you plan on stalking him, the W is the hotel sponsor.
