Was it a recreation of Michael Jackson's Thriller video? Or an afternoon procession of the living dead? No, the 1,500 folks looking spooky and scary on Saturday in Central were just taking part in the third annual Halloween Charity Parade. Spearheaded by HSBC Insurance, the spectacle started near dusk (around 5pm) and proceeded from HSBC's headquarters along the footbridge leading to the Central ferry piers. The ghouls and goblins gathered in support of the Cancer Fund, specifically raising funds for a project to upgrade its hotline at the Wong Tai Sin CancerLink centre. Prizes were given out to the best and most outrageously dressed. Big kudos to the effort of the winning team, who recreated the Hellboy movie characters in awesome detail.
