Kelly Chen just can't wait to have first Christmas with son Chace
Kelly Chen Wai-lum is really looking forward to her first Christmas as a mum, but her first New Year's Eve? Not so much. The singer was in merry mode, dressed like a sparkly decorated tree, as she appeared at Festival Walk to help launch their Festival Fantasia Christmas lighting ceremony on Tuesday evening. She was joined by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, which performed excerpts from the Nutcracker Suite in the mall. However, it was the popular singer who gave the shoppers a holiday lift when she appeared on a makeshift staircase (and nearly tripped in her five-inch heels) while singing Lover's Concerto and officially lit up the Kowloon Tong mall's 21-metre fake tree.
'This year I have my own family,' the new mother said. 'We will have Christmas dinner at our house. I have already bought a tree, my first gift for [her baby boy] Chace and a Santa costume for him. I've also prepared a Christmas stocking for him. But with my husband Alex, I know anything related to IT and computers will do.'
Don't feel too sorry for her husband because his idea of a good time on New Year's Eve doesn't even include his wife. 'He told me he wants to spend New Year's Eve drinking with his buddies and not with me.' Uh-oh, sounds like the honeymoon is definitely over.
