If your makeup is as bold as your accessories, is that such a good combination, or is it too much? With so many options on the colour and style front with watches - alongside some eye-popping makeup shades - timepiece enthusiasts who love to follow the latest fashions may need some tips.
'I have about 20 watches and I would love to know how to mix and match those,' says digital marketing executive Leslie Tang. 'I love fashion watches and I'd like to know what kind of makeup look goes with them. It'd be fun creating it.'
Eve Roth Lindsay, who runs image consultancy Savvy Style, says the blending of the two depends on the rest of the outfit and your skin tone.
'There is no reason you can't wear some gorgeous colours around your eyes if you are wearing a 'bling' watch,' says Lindsay. 'Just remember to tie it all in using your best colours', such as 'warm' or 'cool', depending on your hair and skin colour. 'Rose gold is perfect because it goes with everyone,' she says, 'as do diamonds'.
Lindsay says bright pink accessories have made a comeback with the recent rehashing of 80s fashions, but she says to be careful of going overboard with this. It's not only in the clothes, but accessories such as watches (Louis Vuitton released the Tambour Heart watch with a pink sapphire and bright pink strap earlier this year). 'Bright pink is such a fabulous 80s colour right now, but it is bright,' she says. 'The trick is to make sure it is only your watch that pops. If you overdo your makeup, no one will notice your gorgeous new watch.'
However, a bright pink seasonal time-piece with the right shade of makeup colours can give your makeup the zing it needs.
