Despite a number of young guns like Green Day and The Killers headed this way, the old fogies of music are still turning to Asia to pad their pensions. Tom Jones tickets go on sale tomorrow, and English guitar hero Jeff Beck said he will be at the AsiaWorld-Arena for a March 22 gig (HK$690 and HK$890). Now come reports that music legend Bob Dylan is to launch an Asian tour this April. According to Taiwanese entertainment firm Brokers Brothers Herald, Dylan, a major figure in folk, popular music and general American culture, will extend his March multi-city Japanese tour to include Southeast Asia. Among the 68-year-old's added stops are to be performances on the mainland and in Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong. Tentatively, the local date is April 8. A location has not been announced. Once a seminal voice in political and social counterculture, Dylan most recently released, of all things, a seasonal album called Christmas in the Heart. Yeah, that's sure a long way from Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They Are a-Changin'.
