The dinosaurs of rock continue their assault on Hong Kong. The latest charge is from heavy metal pioneers Deep Purple. Yes, the makers of bluesy classics such as Highway Star, Space Truckin', Black Night and Smoke on the Water are bludgeoning their way to the AsiaWorld Arena on May 10, courtesy of promoter Lushington Entertainments. The cool part is, the line-up consists of most core members reuniting. In addition to vocalist Ian Gillan (second from left), there's bass guitarist Roger Glover (fourth from left), drummer Ian Paice (far right), keyboardist Don Airy (left) and guitarist Steve Morse (centre).

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at all HK Ticketing and Tom Lee outlets. They will cost HK$350, HK$480 and HK$680.

Deep Purple once held the world's loudest band title according to Guinness World Records.
