In Daniel Wu Yin-cho's newest film project, his co-star won't be from the usual suspects of Chinese actors. Instead, he'll be acting opposite the star of The Usual Suspects. The Hong Kong actor confirmed reports he will be working with Kevin Spacey. The American Beauty lead has signed on, along with Wu, for a Chinese black comedy called Inseparable, to be helmed by writer-director Dayyan Eng. 'Yes, it's true but I can't comment on anything yet,' Wu replied by e-mail. 'Should be fun though!' he added. According to reports in film trade journals, the Mandarin and English language film is in production in Guangzhou. Spacey, a two-time Academy Award winner and co-star of the new George Clooney comedy The Men Who Stare At Goats, will play a mysterious expatriate who befriends a troubled young engineer, Wu, who has problems at work and at home. The casting coup is billed as the biggest Hollywood star to work in a feature film almost completely financed by Chinese money. A start-up called Fantawild Pictures, a subsidiary of Shenzhen amusement park firm the Hua Qiang Group, is paying more than 90 per cent of the budget - although the exact amount was not released - with additional investment by Xinhua Media Entertainment.
