Congrats to first-time filmmaker Gilitte Leung. A student at the Institute of Vocational Education in Sha Tin, she is one of the winners of Louis Vuitton's international Journeys Awards competition, launched at the Venice Film Festival in September. Its jury was headed by Wong Kar-wai. The idea is for young filmmakers to capture the meaning of a journey in their own vision. The contest was spurred by Wong's two-minute advance short film of his feature Blueberry Days, and the luxury label's 'core values' advertising campaign using Mikhail Gorbachev and Sofia Coppola.

Leung won the Jury President's Award for her two-minute I Want to Make a Movie. She joined the three other winners - from Belgium, Tokyo and South Africa - and met Wong at the brand's Canton Road store on Friday to receive the prize. Wong told the novice director: 'Your journey is bold and sincere, personal and tender. Congratulations on your first film.'
