Robbers escape with US$3m jewellery haul

Police are hunting for two robbers who escaped with jewellery worth US$3 million from a firm in Central last night. An expatriate worker was tied up by the knife-wielding pair, who ransacked premises in New York House, Connaught Road Central. The 37-year-old worker called the police at about 8.20pm. Officers failed to find the suspects after a search.
