Releasing Chasing Dreams, her first album after giving birth to her first child, actress-singer Kelly Chen Wai-lam says motherhood has transformed her. For one, she has cut back on her shopping sprees.

'Shopping used to be my biggest interest, a means to release pressure. But now I don't want to leave home. I'd rather search on the internet and ask my assistant to buy what I want,' she said.

'I hope people won't think I'm outdated. I hope my fans accept me as I am today,' said Chen, who starred in movies such as Breaking News and Lavender.

The 37-year-old says making the CD during her pregnancy was one of the most pleasant recording experiences of her career.

Chen has decided not to stage any concerts for a couple of years.

'I don't want to leave my son. When I prepare for a concert, I have to rehearse eight to 10 hours a day. I'll be exhausted when I get home. How could I play with my son?'
