A voluntary recall has been issued on four models of defibrillators over possible voltage detector problems. The Department of Health is warning the public to be aware that the affected Philips Electronics models are HeartStart FR2+ M3860A, M3861A, M3840A and M3841A. Philips found the voltage detectors on these models may fail and result in the batteries draining too rapidly or paralysing the devices. The firm said 46 models had been sold to clinics and medical professional and commercial organisations. People can contact Philips on 2876 7578.
