Villager's death sparks murder probe

Police suspect an elderly villager found dead at home in Ma On Shan yesterday was robbed and murdered. The man, in his 70s, was found in his flat in Tseng Tau, off Sai Sha Road at 3pm. Police said the man, who was confirmed dead at the scene, had injuries to his forehead and his flat had been ransacked. He had worked in Chinese restaurants in Britain for many years and later owned one, which he left to his children about 10 years ago. He returned to the village, where he had built two houses comprising six flats. He occupied one and leased out the rest.
