Female company apparently turns Singaporean singer-songwriter J.J. Lin Jun-jie into something of a chatterbox.
'I can talk to women quite well. But when I'm with my male friends, I won't talk too much; I'll just laugh it off when we talk about relationships or other life issues,' he said. 'However, when I discuss those topics with girls, I'll talk a lot. It's quite interesting.'
Singaporean singer Stefanie Sun Yan-zi is among the women who can turn Lin (left) into a real talker, so when he started work on his new concept album, She Says, he immediately thought of collaborating with her.
'We've known each other for many years but there hasn't been a chance for us to really sit down and chat. This year, after I wrote the theme song for the Singapore pavilion at the World Expo, it was [recorded] by Yan-zi, Tanya [Chua], A-do and me, so I had the opportunity to talk to Yan-zi.
'So when I started on this album, I thought of her right away,' the 29-year-old said.
Sun penned the lyrics for the title track on She Says, which is released this week. It features 10 numbers that Lin has written for female performers - singers such as Amei Chang Hui-mei, S.H.E and Twins.
