Singer-songwriter Jonathan Wong Chee-hynn, who signed to Japanese label Avex last year, is eager to help relief efforts in Japan.

So he accepted an invitation to be the Hong Kong convener for the Show Your Heart charity, initiated by Japanese musician and actor Gackt Camui to raise funds for victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

'I didn't know Gackt personally. Since I'm the only Hong Kong singer of this generation pursuing development in Japan, he contacted me,' Wong said. 'We plan to bring together people in Hong Kong and do something later this month.'

Wong has written a song entitled Strong, which he dedicated to the Japanese people.

The singer, who released his new Canto-pop album Out Of Frame yesterday, said his debut Japanese single has been postponed tentatively to June. 'To me, it's no harm done. Doing a record in a foreign language is a big challenge. Now I can have few more months to polish my Japanese,' Wong said.
