Hit role no fun for Jen

Taiwanese singer-actor Richie Jen Hsien-chi said shooting fight scenes for the new movie Punished put him in a dark mood.

In the thriller, directed by Law Wing-cheong, Jen (right) plays the loyal bodyguard of a tycoon (played by Anthony Wong Chau-sang), whose daughter (Janice Man Wing-shan) is killed in a kidnapping. He is asked to slay the kidnappers.

'I hope to make some lighthearted movies next. When I was filming Punished, I had to be very violent, hit people and be hit every day. I felt a lot of pressure and was gloomy,' he said.

In many scenes, the director asked him and actor Lin Li not to fake it. 'We were bruised everywhere.' Punished opens next month.
