The vibe: is going to be what you make it. With just five seats at the bar and a sofa for three, you bring your own party. The decor is French bordello with a number of artworks reflecting the name and featuring decapitated individuals. But they are not so gruesome that they detract from the experience.
The drinks: wines are interesting and reasonably priced. The fresh strawberry in the prosecco (HK$65 a glass) was a nice touch. Standard cocktails are available with a host of signature drinks also available. From the signature drinks we tried a strong caipirinha and a minty, sweet mojito. Testing the bar with a request for a lemon daiquiri produced a soup bowl-sized portion of a strong drink labelled 'tarty'. A fresh berries mocktail was also a success.
The verdict: Open a month, Medusa promises many future fun nights out in an intimate atmosphere. The affable Phil Spruce, the Neil Perry lookalike owner, was previously involved with the Feather Boa.
