Nadi Hlaing
Nadi Hlaing is a Burmese-American living in New York. She was born and raised in Myanmar and relocated to the US in 2005. Nadi is a freelance writer focused on Myanmar and is the current host of a bilingual YouTube channel series "Padauk Stories". She worked previously as a grassroots organiser/fundraiser for the US Campaign for Burma.

Nearly all of Myanmar Railway’s 20,000 workers are on strike, shutting down a sector that transports not only people, but goods, harvest and military supplies.


North Okkalapa is one of the largest working-class communities in Yangon. It is known for its lawlessness and illicit activities but it has also been central to Myanmar’s protests movements for decades.
