Zoe Newton is an animal studies graduate from New York University. Her work revolves around liminal species and human-animal relationships in cities. She is the creator of the documentary New York City’s Denizens – redefining the urban rat/human relationship. More broadly, she aspires to bring animal welfare considerations into policy, and to raise public awareness about animals that we share a space with.
Our prosperity as a multi-species society hinges upon including animals in our plans. Yet there is still scant consideration for the animals we share urban spaces with, especially when natural catastrophes loom.
