I was a patient at the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital from April 20 to 23 for cardiac surgery. My operation was not an easy one but, thanks to the excellent surgeons, I am now on the road to a full recovery.

The subsequent care in the Cardiac Care Unit (D5) was nothing short of the best. All the medical staff performed their duties with the utmost professionalism, efficiency, courtesy, patience and cheerfulness.

One only needs to spend a few hours in the ward to observe and appreciate how much pressure the staff work under (“Hong Kong’s flu patients are suffering, but so are doctors, nurses and public hospital staff”, February 25). Thank you, doctors and staff of D5.
