I refer to the article, “Another video of suspected bullying at Hong Kong school emerges – the third case in a week” (January 28).

So far, three videos have emerged that showed students bullying others at apparently the same secondary school. It was disappointing to see that the school had at first claimed that the students just got carried away while playing, and that no bullying was involved.
The government must enact laws with severe penalties against bullying, as it can leave victims with serious scars, both physical and emotional. In addition, schools should organise talks and seminars to educate students about the detrimental consequences of bullying, both for the bully and the bullied.
The government and schools must work together to stop bullying in schools. With determination, the problem can be tackled.
