I refer to your report “Conservatives cheer Trump’s tirade” (March 4). The US president said that Special Counsel Robert Mueller “never received a vote and neither did the person who appointed him”.
The president’s statement may well be factually correct, but it certainly does not follow that an elected president is above criticism or the law, and that an official like Mueller has no duty or right to compile a report on alleged collusion with Russia by the Trump election campaign in 2016 based on investigation and evidence. The president’s statement is therefore rather distracting and logically fallacious.

The photo editor of the Post must be congratulated on the choice of the cover photograph of the March 1 edition of the newspaper. The look on Trump’s face says it all. The world of a serial con man, a pathological liar and a bully is falling apart at home and abroad.
