Before any group hijacks this festival for specific demonstrations or purposes, may I, as a law-abiding, peace-loving individual, ask that the sanctity of this festival be remembered and honoured for its tradition, which is to celebrate the completeness and unity of families?

May we therefore ask for this festival that there are no white shirts, no black shirts, no demonstrations of any kind, no police in combat gear, no politicians and no media personnel shoving camera lenses and microphones at us?

Let us instead bring harmony to our families and have a peaceful day.

The tourists may enjoy it too.
