Letters
I recently required medical assistance which involved several consultations resulting in two weeks’ hospitalisation at Queen Mary Hospital. I write today to show my thanks and gratitude to everyone at the hospital.

You can go through many emotions as a patient and must rely on the knowledge of the support staff for all experiences, including treatment when required. The doctors and nurses who treated me offered excellent assistance. They gave answers to my questions in terms I could comprehend as well as explained the potential causes of my illness. I could see that the hospital and my floor were very busy, but I never once felt ignored or not attended to.

The kindness and professional treatment also came from the food delivery and cleaning teams. It is hard to show a smile with all of us wearing masks, but you could see it.

We so often only hear the negatives in today’s world, but not this time. These men and women, many of whom I could clearly see were working 12-hour shifts or more, are invaluable to our community each and every day.

I thank you, thank you and thank you again.
