Our government has been urging more Hongkongers to get vaccinated for Covid-19. The rationale is that if the vast majority of the population receives the shot, we can achieve zero infections.

Many people think age is a determining factor for whether to take a shot, but even 90-year-olds in the United Kingdom have been vaccinated.
Now Hong Kong’s richest man, Li Ka-shing, is doing his bit. The 92-year-old has shared his experience of receiving his first dose of the BioNTech vaccine on his foundation’s Facebook page, where he posted: “I’m vaccinating today, have you vaccinated yet?”

As Civil Service Secretary Patrick Nip Tak-kuen pointed out, putting the Hong Kong economy and daily life back on track requires different sectors to cooperate. Taking the vaccine as early as possible is pretty much essential. Let’s all follow Li’s example, roll up our sleeves and take the shot.
