China, under the leadership of its Communist Party, has made remarkable achievements in the last 100 years.

As President Xi rightly pointed out, the era of China being bullied is gone forever: “We have never bullied, oppressed, or subjugated the people of any other country, and we never will. By the same token, we will never allow any foreign force to bully, oppress, or subjugate us.”

China has become a truly independent country which is capable of resisting foreign influence. We insist on following our own path of development. It is clearly enshrined in the Chinese constitution that the Communist Party is the ruling party of China.

This is our own constitutional and political framework. We do not follow Western political systems, which do not suit circumstances of our own .

Imagine if we had done otherwise, China would never have been able to get rid of poverty or improve Chinese people’s livelihoods, let alone enhance our international status.
