A little hope for peace during our election fever down under. Australia followed the United States into war in Vietnam. It caused great destruction and killed a lot of people.

Australian youth in that era said no to the war, but to little avail. The allies achieved nothing and lost anyway.

Australia followed the US into war in Iraq. The decision led to many people dying and destabilised the region, and then Australians were told there were no weapons of mass destruction in the first place.

Australia followed the US into war in Afghanistan. Then the US walked away without even consulting its allies, leaving yet another country in tatters.

Now the US wants Australia to make China its enemy, and Australia’s Defence Minister Peter Dutton speaks of preparing for war with China, its greatest trading partner. Australia needs a government that has the courage to say no to war.
