According to Cap 599I, the government legislation that covers the mask mandate, the mandate only covers the specified disease of Covid-19. Therefore, unless the mask mandate is updated, the government cannot extend the mandate for other diseases.
Besides, is the mandate really justifiable at this point? The world has moved on and forgotten about Covid. Meanwhile, we in Hong Kong are still reminded each day about the so-called pandemic.
