With Hong Kong rooting for its athletes at the recently concluded 31st Fisu World University Games, the city has managed to win four golds, one silver and seven bronzes from five sports.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to those who struck gold and pocketed medals as their trophies of perseverance and diligence. Those who fell short should also take pride in what they have achieved, whether in competition or training – their tenacity epitomises Hong Kong’s can-do spirit and deserves respect.

Fierce competition gives athletes a chance to face their darkest moments and forge stamina in adversity. Our athletes are an inspiration not just to the city’s youngsters to embrace sports and healthy living, but also to those pursuing dreams of sporting excellence.
