American photographer William Klein, whose work has been credited with revolutionising street and fashion photography, died in Paris on September 10 aged 96.

Coincidentally, f22 foto space at The Peninsula Hong Kong hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is hosting “Style”, an exhibition of Klein’s fashion photography that shows his nonconformist approach. The exhibition opens on September 15 and runs until November 27.

“The death of Klein at the weekend was very sad and makes this exhibition more special than ever,” says Shirley Fisher, f22’s senior client adviser.

Fisher says she met the “very passionate” Klein at Paris Photo, an annual art fair dedicated to photography, in 2018 and was blown away by his work.

“That’s when we knew we had to show his work in Hong Kong,” says Fisher.
