By Jung Hae-myoung The success of superstars BTS has opened the door for more K-pop acts internationally, and fellow boy band NCT 127 are following the path with a tight schedule in the US filled with interviews and media appearances. On Tuesday, the members appeared on the Fox 5 TV show Good Day New York to promote their new album Superhuman , which will be released on May 24. “The album talks about how we want to bring a positive vibe, and that we all have the potential to be superhuman. We all have superpowers within us,” says NCT member Mark. “I think we become superhuman when we become one on stage.” The group emphasised the members came are from diverse backgrounds, with some of them having lived in Canada, Japan and Chicago. “Diversity is a big aspect of our team. A lot of different cultures bring our group together – this is what makes us who we are,” Mark says. The TV appearance came a day before NCT 127’s first US tour started at the Prudential Centre in New Jersey on Wednesday. “It is not our first time being there, but we are very excited to be doing a tour of North America,” says Johnny. The members said they would welcome collaborations with US artists, particularly Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Billie Eilish. NCT 127 already recorded a music video with American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo in February this year. BTS follows The Beatles with 3 Billboard No 1 albums in a year Last week, NCT 127 made appearances on ABC’s Good Morning America and Strahan and Sara . The group were introduced as a “K-pop sensation” on the set at Times Square and the members performed a mash-up version of its hit songs Cherry Bomb and new song Superhuman . They also conducted interviews with well-known radio channels such as Sirius XM and iHeartRadio which has more than 100 million listeners. NCT 127’s North American tour starts call past 11 different cities including Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, San Jose, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto. BTS on the fear and pressure they feel from being K-pop megastars NCT 127 are the second subunit group of the NCT umbrella, which originally had 21 members.
