K-pop idol Goo Hara is recovering in hospital after what appears to be a suicide attempt, South Korean police said on Sunday.

She remains unconscious but her vital signs are stable, they said. The reason behind the suspected suicide attempt is not yet known.

Police said Goo, 28, was found unconscious by her manager at her home in Seoul’s Gangnam district early on Sunday morning. The manager said he visited her home as the singer was not answering her phone and he became concerned.

Media reports say Goo posted a brief cryptic message on her Instagram account on Saturday night, stating only the word: “Goodbye.”
