BigBang will soon be back – minus Seungri (second from left) – after completing their military service in South Korea. The now-four-piece K-pop band will make their comeback at the Coachella music festival in California in April.

K-pop band BigBang will make their long-awaited comeback at US music festival Coachella this spring after members completed their military duties, the group’s agency has announced.

The act were invited to this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, in April, according to YG Entertainment.

BigBang will perform on April 10 and 17, along with other Korean musicians including hip-hop group Epik High and DJ Peggy Gou.

The April 10 gig is expected to be the first official live performance by the now-four-member band since they went on a hiatus in 2017 as members started their two-year compulsory military service.

Seungri, a founding member of BigBang, quit K-pop last year after becoming the subject of criminal investigations of events at a Seoul nightclub, Burning Sun, which he co-owned.

As group leader G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and T. O. P finished their service and returned to public life last year, hopes for the reunion of the group were high, although fellow original member Seungri left the group and the music industry amid a series of criminal investigations related to him.
