K-pop star Daniel Kang has hinted he will resume his music career, ending a two-month hiatus triggered by symptoms of severe stress, ranging from panic attacks to a bout of depression.
“This winter is tough on me, so I have need ed to hibernate and get it over,” Kang wrote on his official fan community. “Your warmth has brought me spring, waking me up to enjoy it.”
The former member of defunct boy band Wanna One also thanked his followers, saying: “I belatedly appreciate everyone for embracing me, although they must have been surprised by the news” that he would put his career on hold. The singer, 23, also promised he would do more to show his appreciation for the support he has received from fans.


Kang and his agency Konnect Entertainment did not provide further details.
The K-pop star announced his break in early December, soon after releasing the digital single Touchin’. He was diagnosed with depression and panic disorder. Kang, who has long been a victim of malicious comments, revealed then he was having a hard time and hoped somebody would save him.
Kang won the second season of Mnet’s audition programme Produce 101 in 2017 and joined Wanna One. After the 11-piece group broke up in 2018, he went solo with the album “Color on Me” last July.
