K-pop girl group Blackpink are due to finally release their first full-length album on October 2, according to the band’s agency, YG Entertainment. It will be the four-piece act’s first studio album since making their debut in 2016.
YG took to its official blog to unveil a teaser poster for the album. It features a pink crown against a black backdrop and text reading: “The album.”
It added that the quartet’s collaboration with American music corporation Universal Music Group – which represents pop stars such as Taylor Swift – had been going smoothly, but did not elaborate.
Blackpink, comprising Jennie, Lisa, Rose and Jisoo, rose to stardom with a string of hits including Whistle (2016).
How You Like That , a pre-release from the upcoming full-length album, clocked up more than 100 million views on YouTube within 32 hours of its release – the fastest a YouTube video has reached the milestone.
The K-pop singers’ second pre-release will come out in August. YG has not disclosed details of any collaboration.
