Som Hein, the first female K-pop singer to come out as bisexual, has revealed that she has broken up with her non celebrity girlfriend after dating for about a year.
“We decided to go separate ways, but will still support each other,” Som, 21, wrote in an Instagram post. “Since numerous people have shown interest in our relationship, I felt the need to let them know about our parting. We are just going back to where we were – we will do our best at our own places.”
Som, who disclosed her sexuality in July last year on Instagram, is among the few celebrities in South Korea to come out.
“I don’t think my inclination is something wrong,” she said in an interview last year. “I have a girlfriend and do not want to hide our relationship.”
Som appeared on South Korean pay-TV company Mnet’s survival show Idol School in 2017, but dropped out due to a struggle with anorexia.
Last May, she released her debut single Mini Radio.
