J-Hope, a member of K-pop supergroup BTS, has donated 100 million won (US$84,000) to help underprivileged children during the coronavirus crisis, according to non-profit organisation ChildFund Korea.

“I hope this donation will go to disadvantaged children facing various social issues, especially those economically suffering from Covid-19,” the artist, born Jung Ho-seok, said through the organisation.

This is not the first time the artist has donated to this charity. In 2018, he donated 150 million won for sick children, and 100 million won to his alma mater, a high school in the southern city of Gwangju, to help low-income students in 2019. That same year, he gave another 100 million won to help sick children.
