An online troll who made insulting comments about K-pop group BTS has been fined for defaming the stars.

Big Hit Entertainment, the group’s agency, announced late last week that the person was recently slapped with a fine of four million won (US$3,400) for three counts of defamation and contempt.

The agency had filed complaints against the person – whose identity was withheld – with police in December 2019 and March this year.

If the person continues to attack the members, Big Hit warned that it would seek damages for its financial loses. “There will be no settlement or leniency,” it added.
