K-pop stars Key from Shinee, Jinwoon from 2AM and N from Vixx returned to civilian life on Wednesday after completing their mandatory military service.

The three were discharged after enjoying their final leave and did not return to their base due to coronavirus concerns.

The stars’ discharge comes as calls grow in South Korea for members of megaband BTS to be granted alternatives or delays to mandatory military service.

Jinwoon from 2AM thanked fans for waiting for him.

“I am back in good condition as I promised,” Key wrote on Shinee’s online fan community page on Wednesday. “Thank you for waiting for me. Please look forward to my future plans.”

Jinwoon said through his agency Mystic Story: “I truly appreciate my fans for waiting for me and I hope we can meet up soon.”

N of Vixx said he learned a lot during his service.

“I learned a lot of things during my service,” N said on his Instagram page. “I give my support to those who are still fulfilling their duties. Thank you for waiting and supporting.”

The three enlisted in March 2019 and joined a military band.
