When we “get down to business”, we aren’t always able to perform at our best and sometimes things can go wrong. But knowing how to deal with and resolve sexual pitfalls can allow you and your partner the chance to have the best sex possible.

First, ask yourself: have you ever felt distracted during sex? Do you feel the pressure of starting a family? Is there a lack of emotional connection with your partner, or do you feel you’re being taken for granted sometimes? Why do you always have to initiate it?

They might sound insignificant, but these issues add up and can cause conflicts that pull you and your partner apart. It might even be the beginning of the end of your sex life and romantic life.

Recognising problems and fixing them early is important. We often hear people complain about catching their partner or themselves “wandering off” during sex. This seems to happen more to mothers due to the pressure of parenting, and even more so with working mothers who have to juggle the demands of work and home.

Parenting or the pressure to make a baby could diminish sexy thoughts or even put out the fire of lust. So identifying and fixing issues in your sex life can give you better sex and might even fix other underlying issues.
