Five Hong Kong fashion events this month you shouldn’t miss – including some that will raise funds for charities
A Get Redressed secondhand pop-up shop will raise money to reduce textile landfill waste, and shopping for celebrity items at another pop-up comes guilt-free with most proceeds going to non-profit Crossroads Foundation
A 2016 survey by Greenpeace found that more than 60 per cent of Hongkongers consider recycling their clothes. But despite this, government figures show a massive 111,690 tonnes of textiles are being sent to landfills each year.
With this in mind, ethical fashion NGO Redress has teamed with appliance-maker Miele to stage a clothing drive from November 6-19. The Get Redressed x Miele Clothing Drive 2017 is calling for donations of secondhand clothing, shoes and accessories (men’s, women’s and childrenswear accepted), which will benefit local charities.
Eco-friendly Hong Kong fashion label BYT debuts at EcoChic Design Awards, pushes upcycling and sustainability
Incoming high-quality clothing and accessories will be sold at the Get Redressed charity/secondhand pop-up shop from November 22-25 to raise funds for Redress, so it can continue its mission of cutting waste out of fashion.

Get “touchy feely” at Guiltless pop-up
We love luxury consignment website Guiltless.com, and if you haven’t popped into its first pop-up store in the city, check it out before November 20. Shoppers can snap up rare items such as handbags reserved for celebrities and limited-edition items, including vintage Gucci Bicycles (we’re told it also has an extensive collection of new and vintage Chanels).
